Your Guide to Our Process, Support, and What to Expect when Seeking a Job with Clarity or Cleartech
At Clarity, we know job seekers have questions — from how our process works to what support you can expect along the way. We built this guide to help you understand how we partner with candidates, what our process looks like, and how to make the most of your experience. Whether you’re seeking temporary work, temp-to-perm roles, or a permanent position, read this first.
How the Clarity Process Works
Where do your job openings come from?
Clarity partners with some of the best companies in the nation and serves as an extension of their talent acquisition teams. Companies partner with us because recruiting and sourcing talent is incredibly demanding. Our speciality is talent, and we are an invaluable resource to companies that need support with screening, vetting and qualifying talent as they plan to grow their teams.
I submitted my resume through Clarity’s website. What happens next?
Once you submit your resume, our recruiting team reviews your experience and qualifications. If your background aligns with roles we’re actively recruiting for, a recruiter will reach out for an introductory call — usually by phone or Zoom. We receive new openings from clients daily, so even if there’s not a perfect match immediately, opening a conversation ensures you’re top of mind when the right role comes through. We receive hundreds of applications daily, and we prioritize outreach to applicants whose experience aligns with active openings with our clients.
What is Cleartech?
Cleartech is the dedicated technical recruiting division of Clarity Recruiting. Cleartech launched in 2020 to support existing Clarity clients with specialized tech hiring needs. Based in Clarity’s NYC headquarters, Cleartech shares leadership, resources, and values with the broader Clarity team while operating as a focused group of expert technical recruiters. While primarily serving the greater NYC market, Cleartech also recruits nationwide and has grown consistently year over year. All Clarity clients have access to Cleartech’s technical recruiting expertise, and Team Clarity welcomes the opportunity to make an introduction when tech roles come into play. If you apply and are qualified for a Cleartech job via their jobs page or on Linkedin, a dedicated Cleartech recruiter will contact you.
Cost & Location
Does it cost anything to work with Clarity as a candidate?
No — working with Clarity is completely free for job seekers. You’ll never be invoiced or charged at any point in the process, and we’ll never ask you to pay for placement. Clarity ultimately is paid by the companies that hire talent we connect them to after a placement is made. We also encourage you to be cautious of recruitment scams; if someone claiming to be from Clarity requests money, please notify your recruiter as this is likely a scammer posing as a member of the Clarity team.
I live outside NYC — can Clarity still work with me?
Yes. All initial screening conversations happen virtually via phone or Zoom, so you don’t need to be in the NYC area. While most of our current openings are in the greater NYC region, we partner with clients across the U.S. and will absolutely explore and alert you to opportunities in your local area, or remote opportunities you are qualified for, when possible.
What to Expect From Your Interview
How should I prepare for my first Clarity screening call?
Bring your best self. Find a quiet, distraction-free space and be ready to talk about your goals, experience, and what you’re looking for. Your recruiter will walk you through our process and explain any documentation requirements. You may be asked to complete an online application prior to your meeting.
How long will it take to be placed in a job or on a temporary assignment?
Timelines vary depending on the role and client needs. Temporary positions can sometimes place quickly, while permanent roles generally take longer due to multi-round interview processes. Each process is unique. Once hired in a permanent role through Clarity, all questions regarding details of your day-to-day, onboarding etc., will be answered by your new employer, should you accept the job.
Life on a Temporary Assignment through Clarity
How much do assignments pay?
Compensation varies by role, responsibilities, and client requirements. Pay rates for temporary roles comply with applicable wage laws, and permanent salary ranges are discussed before client interviews.
How do last-minute assignments work?
Last-minute opportunities may arise early in the morning. If you’ve requested to be on our Daily Call List and qualify, we’ll notify you as soon as we learn of the role. Joining our Daily Call List means you’re willing and able to take on a last-minute assignment.
Can I get a raise during my assignment?
Raises may be possible, particularly during long-term assignments or when responsibilities expand. Your recruiter can discuss opportunities where appropriate.
What if I’m sick or need time off?
Communication is key. If you cannot make an assignment due to illness or an emergency, contact your recruiter immediately so we can coordinate appropriately.
When might a temporary assignment convert to permanent?
Conversions vary based on client needs and performance. While some assignments lead to permanent offers, not all temporary roles convert.
Payroll & Logistics
How do I set up direct deposit for a temporary assignment?
Your recruiter will guide you through the direct deposit setup during onboarding.
When will I get paid?
Temporary employees are paid weekly. Payments are typically processed on Fridays for the prior week worked.
What about lunch breaks, overtime, holidays, or PTO?
Breaks, overtime, and holiday policies vary by client and assignment. Your recruiter can clarify details specific to your role.
