Today marks the launch of a partnership between Clarity Recruiting, a boutique, woman-owned recruitment agency based in New York City, and the New Jersey chapter of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR New Jersey). Both organizations share a mutual mission of fostering diverse, equitable and inclusive environments within the professional organizations each work to build. This alliance was spurred after a Clarity Recruiting professional joined NAAAHR New Jersey as a member and shared her enthusiasm about her firm’s active and historical commitment to sourcing diverse talent for its clients. A closer connection between Clarity and the NAAAHR New Jersey Chapter then blossomed into deeper conversations between their leaders that highlighted shared goals and a vision for the future of work.
Both organizations share a mission to foster development of diverse, equitable and inclusive environments within the professional organizations each work to build. After several organized meetings during 2020, it became clear that a natural next step would be a strategic alignment of actions to support that mission. These actions have been built into a pilot program which includes but is not limited to: Sharing of Clarity’s network of career opportunities on the NAAAHR New Jersey website; Coordinated marketing and branding of Clarity and NAAAHR New Jersey’s vision for widespread education around eradication of bias in hiring; Communication of updates and resources to both networks in order to ultimately enhance racial equity in business operations, practices and processes.
The New Jersey chapter of NAAAHR supports the Association’s national mission of serving as a unique professional development and networking powerhouse for human resources practitioners of color and those who are aligned with those goals. NAAAHR New Jersey also partners with local and state universities, including Montclair State and Rutgers Universities, to educate students, particularly BIPOC students, on corporate practices and processes as they seek to begin or continue their career journeys. The Association has consistently been lauded by companies in the tri-state area who have shared updates on employment opportunities with NAAAHR members and supporters and gained access to strong talent.
