Serena’s career has sat at the intersection of recruiting and communications since it’s launch. With nearly two decades of professional experience in NYC, Serena began her career in recruiting right after graduating from Dickinson College. After several years in recruiting –first on the agency side and then in-house at a large media company– Serena segued into PR, media relations, digital project management and communications. Her unique blend of experience provided exposure to a wide range of company cultures – an element she finds to be of utmost importance while job-searching! Serena returned to the recruiting industry in 2015 and joined Team Clarity to pursue her true passions for helping people navigate their career paths, examining corporate cultures and building better teams. She is dedicated to the development and execution of strategic communications, marketing and thought-leadership initiatives, and managing partnerships. She also keeps a pulse on recruiting trends, and is the editor-in-chief of The Watercooler. When she’s not working, Serena can be found exploring NYC with her husband and two children, traveling, and enjoying Prospect Park.
Serena is a Qualified Diversity Recruiter [QDR], certified through JTC – Jenn Tardy Consulting.
Interview Tip
Your work history is a story, and compelling storytelling is the key to building relationships — especially in an interview. Captivate your audience and express your intelligence by using descriptive language and providing examples whenever possible.
Also – NEVER wear uncomfortable shoes to an interview!
