Temp Events Manager
We are seeking an experienced Events Manager to support the planning and execution of fundraising, donor, and community events for a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This temporary role is ideal for a creative and highly organized event professional who enjoys managing projects from concept through execution while delivering exceptional experiences for sponsors, donors, volunteers, and attendees. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and be comfortable balancing multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising and special events from concept through post-event wrap-up
- Develop event plans, production timelines, budgets, and logistics while ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and coordinate catering, audiovisual, décor, registrations, and other event production needs
- Partner with internal teams to support sponsorship activation, event marketing, communications, merchandising, and attendee engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, donors, volunteers, and external partners to ensure successful event execution
- Monitor event performance, prepare post-event reporting and budget reconciliation, and identify opportunities to enhance future events and fundraising initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3–5 years of event planning or event production experience, preferably within a nonprofit environment
- Experience managing multiple events, budgets, vendors, and production logistics
- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus
- Creative, proactive, and collaborative approach to problem-solving
- Ability to travel locally for meetings and event-related responsibilities as needed
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: $28–$33 per hour
- Temporary assignment
- Full-time
