Research Associate – Executive Search
We are seeking a Research Associate to support the execution of retained executive search assignments across communications, corporate affairs, marketing, investor relations, and related functions. This role is ideal for a curious, analytical, and highly organized professional who enjoys research, talent mapping, market intelligence, and candidate engagement. Working closely with senior search consultants, the Research Associate will play a key role in developing candidate pipelines, conducting market research, supporting client deliverables, and helping drive successful search outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead candidate sourcing and industry mapping efforts using LinkedIn, internal databases, and other research tools to build high-quality talent pipelines
- Support all phases of the executive search process, including candidate identification, outreach, screening, tracking, and search administration
- Develop market maps, competitive intelligence reports, candidate profiles, compensation research, and other client-facing deliverables
- Draft and refine position descriptions, search updates, and presentation materials for clients and internal stakeholders
- Partner with senior consultants to identify talent trends, synthesize market insights, and support search strategy development
- Maintain accurate candidate and search data while ensuring a high level of responsiveness and professionalism throughout the candidate experience
- Evaluate and leverage emerging technologies, including AI-powered research tools, to improve workflows and enhance search effectiveness
- Support business development initiatives through company research, target mapping, and market intelligence projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2–5 years of experience in executive search, recruiting, research, consulting, communications, professional services, or a related field
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Comfortable engaging with senior-level executives and candidates in a professional and confidential manner
- Interest in emerging technologies and AI-enabled research tools
- Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and a collaborative approach to teamwork

- Hybrid schedule
- Greater New York City area or San Francisco Bay Area
- Compensation commensurate with experience
