Real Estate Transactional Legal Assistant
We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Legal Assistant to support a busy transactional real estate practice within a growing law firm. This role provides comprehensive legal and administrative support to attorneys handling sophisticated commercial real estate transactions. The ideal candidate has strong law firm experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and manage a variety of commercial real estate documents, including purchase agreements, leases, deeds, closing documents, and related transactional materials
- Assist with all phases of commercial real estate transactions, including due diligence, title and survey review, closing coordination, document execution, and post-closing activities
- Manage attorney calendars, meeting scheduling, travel arrangements, expense reporting, and day-to-day administrative support
- Open and close client matters, prepare engagement letters, perform conflict checks, and maintain client files within the firm’s document management system
- Track deadlines, coordinate with internal departments, and support billing, time entry, and other practice management activities
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, and external parties while delivering exceptional client service
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; additional legal education is a plus
- 3+ years of commercial real estate legal assistant experience within a law firm
- Experience supporting commercial real estate transactions from due diligence through closing
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and PDF editing software
- Experience with legal technology platforms such as Intapp, Aderant, Chrome River, Interaction, or iManage is a plus
Compensation & Schedule
- Salary: $90,000–$130,000 annually
- Full-time
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office
- Midtown Manhattan, New York, NY
