HR Generalist – Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support the day-to-day HR operations of a busy healthcare organization in the Bronx. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting employees throughout their lifecycle. The Human Resources Generalist will assist with onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, HR data management, and various administrative functions while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Onboarding & Administration

Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee documentation

Process and maintain employee records, HRIS updates, and personnel files with accuracy

Assist with background checks, credentialing documentation, and leave administration

Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
Benefits & Employee Support

Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and general benefits inquiries

Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs
-
Support employee engagement initiatives and HR-related projects

Provide excellent customer service to employees, managers, and internal stakeholders
Recruitment Support

Assist with recruitment activities, including posting positions, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates

Coordinate hiring-related documentation and onboarding processes

Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
Reporting & Compliance

Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, and tracking logs as needed

Assist with payroll documentation and timekeeping inquiries

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information

Support compliance with healthcare, employment, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent Human Resources experience

2+ years of Human Resources experience required

Experience with onboarding, benefits administration, and HR data entry

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems

Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Healthcare or hospital experience strongly preferred

Knowledge of labor laws and HR compliance regulations preferred

Experience supporting high-volume employee populations preferred

Bilingual skills are a plus
Compensation & Schedule
-
Pay Rate: $30–$32 per hour
-
Temporary assignment
-
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

On-site, 5 days per week
