Director of HR
Our client, a rapidly growing private equity-backed home healthcare organization, is seeking a Director of Human Resources to help lead and strengthen its HR function during an exciting period of growth and transformation. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this role will serve as a strategic partner while remaining hands-on across HR operations, employee relations, compliance, benefits, HRIS, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is an experienced HR leader who enjoys building scalable processes, developing teams, and driving operational excellence within a complex, multi-state organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with HR leadership to strengthen and scale the Human Resources function.
- Lead employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Oversee benefits administration, including open enrollment, leave administration (FMLA, ADA), ACA compliance, broker relationships, and annual renewals.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for ADP Workforce Now, including system administration, reporting, workflow optimization, and data integrity.
- Partner with Payroll leadership to improve payroll processes, controls, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Enhance onboarding processes and collaborate with Talent Acquisition to improve the employee experience.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, reporting, and operational best practices.
- Mentor and develop a team of HR professionals while supporting organizational growth and change initiatives.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including leadership experience at the Director level or equivalent.
- Strong HR generalist background with expertise in employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, compliance, and HR operations.
- Advanced experience administering ADP Workforce Now, including reporting and HRIS management.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and internal controls.
- Experience supporting large, multi-state organizations.
- Demonstrated success leading teams, coaching managers, and driving organizational change.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare or home healthcare industry experience.
- Experience working within private equity-backed or other high-growth organizations.
- Experience building and improving HR processes during periods of organizational transformation.
Compensation & Schedule
- Full-time
- Fully remote
- Quarterly travel to Richmond, VA
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
