Director of Events & Hospitality
A leading research foundation is seeking a Director of Events & Hospitality to oversee the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of its events and hospitality operations. This role will lead teams responsible for scientific conferences, workshops, internal gatherings, and large-scale events hosted primarily at the organization’s New York City headquarters. The Director will also oversee hospitality operations, including workplace dining and pantry services, ensuring a high-quality experience for staff and guests. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who can balance strategic planning with operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage events and hospitality teams, providing mentorship and clear performance expectations

Develop and implement a cohesive strategy for events across the organization

Oversee the full lifecycle of events, from planning through execution and post-event evaluation

Manage a range of events including conferences, research meetings, workshops, and social functions

Partner with internal departments to coordinate logistics, vendors, and event execution

Oversee hospitality operations including office pantries and an onsite dining program

Ensure high standards of service, cleanliness, and guest experience across hospitality functions

Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service providers

Develop and oversee budgets for events and hospitality operations

Implement processes and systems to improve operational efficiency and event outcomes
Qualifications

10–15 years of experience in events, hospitality, or related operational leadership roles

Experience managing large events and complex event programs

Strong people management experience leading internal teams and vendor partners

Proven ability to manage budgets, contracts, and operational planning

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

Experience working with event management tools and Microsoft Office platforms

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Schedule

Competitive salary and benefits package offered ~160K-190K
