Corporate Legal Assistant
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Legal Assistant to support attorneys within a busy Corporate Practice Group. This role provides comprehensive administrative and legal support, including document preparation, transaction support, calendar management, client matter administration, and coordination of day-to-day practice operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced corporate legal environment supporting multiple attorneys with demanding practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and manage a variety of corporate legal documents, including transactional materials, agreements, financing documents, compliance records, closing binders, and related correspondence
- Support corporate transactions by assisting with signature packages, corporate formations and dissolutions, UCC filings, and maintenance of corporate records and minute books
- Manage attorney calendars, meeting scheduling, conference room reservations, travel arrangements, expense reporting, and other administrative support functions
- Open and close client matters, assist with conflict checks, prepare engagement documentation, and maintain client files within the firm’s document management systems
- Monitor deadlines, coordinate with internal departments, and support the overall workflow of active corporate matters
- Accurately enter and manage attorney time and assist with other practice management responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; additional legal or business education preferred
- 3+ years of corporate legal assistant experience within a law firm environment
- Experience supporting corporate, M&A, private equity, financing, or transactional legal practices strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and PDF editing software
- Experience with legal technology platforms such as Intapp, Aderant, Chrome River, Interaction, or iManage is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Compensation & Schedule
Salary: $90,000–$120,000 annually
Full-time
Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office
Midtown Manhattan, New York, NY
Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required
