Legal Counsel
TITLE: In-House Counsel
Our client, a management consultant, advising private equity investors in the ESG (environmental, social, and governance) space, is looking to hire an In-House Counsel for a newly created position. They are seeking an attorney with 8+ years of experience working in a fast-growing company. Preferred candidate profiles have experience working for a management consultant, plus experience working at a start-up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiation of commercial contracts including engagement letters, employment contracts, vendor agreements, and lease agreements
- Research and advise on compliance and corporate governance
- Liaison for external counsel
- Provide general strategic legal advisement
- Work closely with CEO, CFO and Director of HR on issues related to compliance, strategy, policy, human resources, and immigration
Qualifications
· Attorney admitted to the New York State &/or California bar.
· Candidates must be self-starters, able to work in a loosely-structured environment, able to multitask, and comfortable with dynamic responsibilities
· Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, can be a combination of law firm and in-house experience
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to advise and counsel on various legal and compliance issues
· Tactful collaboration and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, influence, negotiate and work effectively with all levels of the organization.
