Director of Workforce + Reentry
We are seeking a Director of Workforce & Reentry Programs to lead impactful workforce development and reentry services for justice-impacted individuals throughout New York City. Reporting to the Vice President of Programs, this leadership role oversees program operations across correctional and community-based settings, ensuring participants receive high-quality, trauma-informed support that promotes successful reentry, employment, and long-term stability. The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on leader with experience managing complex programs, developing community partnerships, and driving measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day operations of workforce development and reentry programs, ensuring high-quality service delivery, participant engagement, and successful program outcomes

Oversee participant intake, assessment, case management, discharge planning, and reentry support across correctional and community settings

Manage employment-focused programming, including job readiness training, career coaching, vocational services, credentialing initiatives, job placement, and retention efforts

Supervise and develop program managers, case managers, workforce staff, mentors, outreach personnel, and other team members while fostering a collaborative and accountable culture

Ensure programs operate in compliance with contractual requirements, government regulations, and organizational standards

Monitor performance metrics, participant outcomes, documentation, and reporting requirements while using data to drive continuous improvement

Build and maintain partnerships with employers, workforce providers, community organizations, government agencies, and correctional facility staff to support participant success

Represent the organization at stakeholder meetings, community events, audits, site visits, and funder engagements

Promote trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based practices throughout all program activities
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Social Work, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Human Services, or a related field
-
7–10+ years of experience in workforce development, reentry services, human services, or related programs
-
3–5+ years of leadership, staff supervision, or program management experience

Strong understanding of justice-involved populations, workforce systems, and community-based services

Experience managing government-funded or contract-funded programs preferred

Knowledge of trauma-informed and evidence-based service models

Excellent leadership, communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
Compensation & Schedule
-
Salary: $110,000–$140,000 annually

Full-time
-
On-site throughout New York City, including Bronx and Manhattan locations

Travel between correctional facilities and community program sites required

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain NYC DOC clearance for facility access
