PRIVACY ATTORNEY - New York / Washington, DC

Our client, a prestigious law firm in Mid-town Manhattan is seeking a Mid-level Associate with at least 4 years of experience focused on data privacy and cyber-security.

General Skills: Prior experience with practical application of privacy laws, such as through participation in privacy impact or similar assessments or security incidents; strong writing, verbal, and communication skills, including writing blogs/articles; and the ability to draft and negotiate complex agreements.

Candidate should have a strong substantive knowledge of global data privacy laws and regulations, with specific experience in assisting large U.S. clients with transactions and compliance in the following areas:

  • Data Sharing Agreements
  • Financial Data Privacy – including GLBA/Reg. S-P/FCRA/NYDFS
  • Cybersecurity; CCPA and other California privacy laws (Shine the Light, CalOPPA
  • Online Privacy – Tracking Technology/eCommerce/Online Marketing (global)
  • Data Breach Preparedness and Response.
  •  
  • Knowledge of the following is a plus: GDPR (as it relates to US entities), TCPA, HIPAA, CFAA, COPPA, FERPA, and privacy advice in the context of M&A transactions. CIPP Certification Preferred.
