Multinational conglomerate of luxury brands is seeking a Manager or Director of Public/ Corporate Affairs and Communications that will contribute to shaping business conditions within the US. This person will be ensuring that legislative and regulatory policy developments and communications relevant to the business are anticipated, understood and captured both from a corporate and product perspective.  The focus for this position is Intellectual Property across all brands and as relevant to the digital economy, international trade, regulatory, social and environmental, retail, and other policy areas.

Main responsibilities

• Delivering high value add public affairs and communications strategies executive teams.
• Gathering intelligence on policy matters;
• Analyzing legislative texts, identifying opportunities and threats for the bottom line of the operating companies and seeking their input and contribution;
• Launching or following policy initiatives; and developing communication initiatives
• Representing the company with Federal and state representatives and serving as key liaison between contract lobbyists and trade associations

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in policy, public affairs and communications
• Postgraduate degree in politics, economics, law or other relevant disciplines required.
• Proactive and creative with political judgment and strategy
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to create strong, relevant messages on complex issues
• An enthusiastic and committed relationship builder
