Senior Trial Attorney

Our client,  one of the largest Plaintiff-Side Asbestos Litigation law firms in the US is looking for a senior trial attorney with first chair experience for their New York City office. The firm is committed to helping people achieve the justice they deserve through compassionate, skilled representation and the group has earned national acclaim for their pioneering work in asbestos litigation, handling more than 500 cases each year. 

The candidate will oversee/execute civil litigation from case intake through trial/settlement.

• Oral Advocacy: Argue motions in court, attend court conferences (preliminary/pre-trial/settlement conferences), and conduct negotiations with opposing counsel; key involvement in jury selection, trial proceedings, and constant contact with opposing counsel.

• Legal Writing & Research: Draft motion documentation, conduct legal research, and prepare legal memorandums.

• Case Management: Conduct client interviews, formulate case strategies, and provide client advisory on legal issues and anticipated outcomes. Undertake/defend discovery, de bene esse, and expert/corporate representative depositions. Propound and respond to discovery requests.

• Travel & Professional Development: Attend conferences with judges, jury selection, witness prepping, settlement/negotiations, etc.; travel on a national scale and practice pro hac vice in numerous states.
