HR/Talent Director

This role requires a progressive and innovative talent expert who possesses both the emotional intelligence and operational rigor to drive a best-in-class – transformational - Talent function and to help lead the team in identifying, designing and implementing best “people practices” across the agencies, ensuring that we are providing an integrated approach to Talent Management and are considered to be a top organization to work for.

The Talent Organization is comprised of several different specialties and focus: Talent Acquisition/Recruiting, HR and Talent Management as well as Resource Management. Resource Management is responsible for managing Talent allocation, capacity, utilization and the flow of talent internally and across brands and determines when new hires need to be made. HR and Talent Management handle onboarding, career development, engagement, retention, employee relations and some of the more technical sides of Human Resources. The primary focus of the recruiting function is to find, attract, and hire external Talent. We are also in the process of building a Learning and Development Center of Excellence.


The Role

The HR/Talent Director will be a culture leader and will partner closely with the management/executive teams across all functional areas of the business, providing both strategic and tactical support. This role will drive the development of strategies that are aligned with the people needs of the business as well as manage and oversee the job functions of direct reports including Talent Managers, Generalists and/or Talent Coordinators.



  • Strategically partners with the business to ensure human resources practices and programs support the businesses goals and objectives.
  • Identifies strategies, builds programs, and executes tactics that support employee on-boarding, development and retention.
  • Identifies and analyzes trends within people practices that helps position HR/Talent as a proactive business partner with its clients.
  • Acts as change agent to assist the business and employees through times of change.
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities to improve and align systems to better enhance the employee experience.
  • Oversees team to deliver on agency talent objectives, providing leadership, mentorship and guidance to enhance their capabilities.
  • Partners with the broader Talent Team to build a holistic, engaging and positive all around employee experience.
  • Understands and anticipates impacts of business decisions and provides input to senior management concerning communication of such decisions.
  • Proactively consults with business leaders on employee, managerial, organizational and business issues and works with various team members to provide effective solutions.
  • Leads annual salary planning process, ensuring highest performers are compensated in line with their business impact and contributions.
  • Consults with leaders on proactively managing an ever-changing environment with an emphasis on culture and increasing employee engagement.
  • Counsels managers on sensitive and difficult to resolve work-related issues and conducts investigations, where needed.
  • Oversees the execution and delivery of HR initiatives acting as a partner to the business.
  • Ensures that diversity efforts are forefront in agency life, helping to foster a diverse and respectful environment.
  • Sets metrics for the Talent team and drives transparency in the process to identify opportunities to increase efficiency.
  • Manages, mentors and inspires the broader talent team by providing leadership and direction to continue to advance the function.
  • Oversees and drives development of staff, including being mentor and coach to junior team members.

  • “ish” - 10+ years of related HR experience, 6+ years of managerial experience, strong industry knowledge/experience ideal.
